We stayed in Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort over the Thanksgiving week. It’s located about 45 minutes north of Tampa, FL in a town called Lutz. It was about 5 miles from my mom and sister’s house. They had a full house that week with my brother, sister-in-law and niece staying so we brought the camper and it is where Scott, myself and the dogs slept each night. The kids stayed at the house with everyone else. It was perfect because it allowed us to get away each night.

Winter Quarters is definitely a place where people come to stay awhile. I think most of the people there were either permanent residents or snow birds. It was a very well maintained and quite large a campground! There were a mix of tiny mobile homes and RVs throughout with mostly older folks as guests.

I was warmly greeted upon check in at the front office. The same building also housed a clubhouse where they hosted various events throughout the year. While we were there they hosted a Thanksgiving potluck dinner for anyone interested. On the end of the building was laundry facilities, bathrooms, and showers. Everything was very clean and inviting. At the center of the property was a very large pond with fountain. It must have been stocked with fish because several folks were fishing. The resort also had a pool that looked very inviting but we didn’t visit it.

Our site was tiny but Mattie I fit perfectly right next to an oak tree. This site had electric and sewer but no cable. It had a nice concrete patio and a picnic table but no fire ring. This wasn’t really your typical campground with people making s’mores and hanging out. It was obvious people lived here. It was very quite though and we just needed a place to sleep this trip so it was perfect.

If I was in the area again, I would definitely stay here. It was clean and inviting. It wasn’t close to the beach at all and it’s not really close to Tampa but for us visiting family it was the perfect spot.
